Board of Appeals

  The Board of Appeals (BOA) is a five-member body appointed by the Village Board to hear and decide appeals, interpret the Zoning Ordinance, and to approve or deny variances. Another responsibilty of the BOA is to provide an appeal mechanism for property owners who believe that the Village administration has made an error in interpreting the zoning ordinance.

The Zoning Board of Appeals meets on the third Wednesday of each month. Meetings are open to the public and are held at the Public Safety Buidling (3100 Eaton Road).

Park Commission

  The Park Commission acts as an advisory body to the Village Board to develop plans and make recommendations to improve or enhance the village park system. The commission also is to promote and recommend the planting and care of trees in the road right-of-way and other public places.

The Park Commission meets the second Monday of the month. Meetings are open to the public and are held at the Public Safety Buidling (3100 Eaton Road).

Planning Commission

  The Planning Commission is a body of seven members appointed by the Village Board. The focus of the Planning Commission is to guide growth and development within the Village to promote the health, safety and welfare of its residents.

The Planning Commission reviews and provides recommendations on site plans for new development, lot split applications, and special use permits within the Village. In addition, the Commission provides recommendations to the Village Board on rezoning requests and zoning ordinance amendments. The Commission develops and adopts a Comprehensive Plan for the physical development of the Village to guide decision-making.

The Planning Commission meets on the third Tuesday of each month. Meetings are open to the public and are held at the Public Safety Buidling (3100 Eaton Road).

Site Plan Review Commission

 

The Site Plan Review Commission is a body of five members appointed by the Village Board. The commission reviews site plans for development with in the Village. The commission ensures that Village ordinances are followed and that develoment is asthetically pleaseing with approriate building materials and landscaping.

The Site Plan Review Commission meets on the second Thursday of each month. Meetings are open to the public and are held at the Public Safety Buidling (3100 Eaton Road).

Fire Commission

 

The Fire Commission is a body of five members appointed by the Village Board. The commission is responsible for appointing fire department personnel.

The Fire Commission meets on an as needed basis. Meetings are open to the public and are held at the Public Safety Buidling (3100 Eaton Road).

Ethics Board

 

The Ethics Board is a body of five members appointed by the Village Board. The Ethics Board reviews charges filed aginst members of the Village Board or Village employees. The Ethics Board is charged with the responsibility of investigating matters brought before it and making findings of fact.

The Ethics Board meets on an as needed basis.

Pedestrian, Bicycle & Safe Routes Task Force

 

The purpose of this task force is to create a plan that creates direction for the future development of a comprehensive Pedestrian, Bicycle and Safe Routes to School Program.

The Task Force meets the 3rd Monday of each month. Meetings are open to the public and are held at the Public Safety Buidling (3100 Eaton Road).

2010 Road Referendum Steering Committee

 

The purpose of this steering committee is to assist in the drafting of ballot language to determine the Village's future special assessment policy.

Meetings are open to the public and are held at the Public Safety Building (3100 Eatod Road).

Emergency Management Committee

 

Responsibilities of the Emergency Management Committee shall be to review and revise the village’s emergency plans as necessary and as a regular course of committee business.  The committee shall have authority to adopt such plans and forward them to the Board of Trustees for ratification.  The committee shall also be responsibly for monitoring the Village’s emergency preparedness and preparing quarterly reports for such to the Village Board.

Meetings are open to the public and are held at the Public Safety Building (3100 Eatod Road).
