Attention Young Adults! Are you interested in becoming a Firefighter? Do you know what Firefighters do? Do you think it is just riding around on a big truck and putting out fires? What education, training and experience is necessary to become a firefighter? How hard is the job? What is the work schedule? Will I like the job? The Bellevue Fire Department is starting a Fire Explorer Post. This program will be open to boys and girls ages 14 to 19. The program is designed to give teens leadership opportunities within the Fire Department. The program will teach participants about what skills, training and education are needed to become a future fire fighter. Fire Explorers help with fire prevention education, the community picnic, fish boil, showing the fire trucks at local events and other requests by the community. How do I apply?Applications are available at both Fire Stations and the Village Offices. For more information, contact Steve Goral (920) 621-9766 or Gary Wyckoff (920) 445-3514. |
